The Astukari Newsletter #103
Weekly Update #011
(Taken from LinkedIn)
This week we put up the first chapter of Boys & Girls Part I, which you can read here.
As a reminder, the first 10 of 44 chapters will be launched for free, on a weekly basis. There's a few ways you can keep up: the easiest was is, if you're on Discord, to join the Astukari server. If you're more old school, you can follow the blog on Wordpress or subscribe to the Astukari Newsletter we put out every biweek. Or if you're REALLY old school, you can just bookmark the Boys & Girls page and periodically check if there's a new hyperlink for the added chapters. You can find more info on all the above (and more) on the Boys & Girls page.
Last week I also mentioned experimenting with promoted posts. It's very interesting because each website has their each promoted targets, and there are combinations that do very well and combinations that do awfully, and you pretty much have to try the full gambit to see what works. It's a fun game. But I'm under the belief that good content given a good budget under good targets will maximize success, particularly in early development stages. And hopefully I can make some experimental breakthroughs in time for Boys & Girls: Part I's launch on December 21st, 2022.

Updates
Creative Focus: Working on a couple of active projects, but probably won’t deep dive into anything before the end of the year. Mostly focused on the B&G Part I launch.
JBR Focus: We are still working on the JBR Courses launch — I promise! I keep getting distracted by other stuff, but we’re working on it and still aiming for early next year. In the meantime I’ve been dropping our free tools as ProductHunt launches, so you can keep on the lookout for those.
Astukari Focus: State of the Union for the upcoming year will be dropping as a Monday Morning Coffee episode next week — keep on the lookout!
Other Stuff
Currently Reading: I’ve slowed down a bit on reading, but I’ve only got one more Goodreads book left to go and I’m reasonably close to finishing a few, so I figure I’m good for procrastinating. After this year’s Goodreads challenge I’ll be retiring the Goodreads account (on the reader side) in order to focus on my self-created backlog catalog available to view on my site.
Currently Watching: Many will notice I do not watch nearly as many movies as I used to. This year I just haven’t had the time for it. The past week I watched about half of The Northman before I got bored and quit — yes, bad of me, I know. But I’m hoping to get back into the habit this upcoming year.
Currently Listening: Joe Rogan and Kanye West. No, I’m not a right wing nut, I promise. This is entirely coincidental. Though it is good to see that Bronze Age Pervert is back on Twitter and I can make fun of his posts again.
Currently Playing: I’ve been getting into Valorant, not so much on the weird hero-based counter strike stuff (not really interested in that) but moreso in the Deathmatch mode. It feels really strong gameplay-wise and I love the artstyle, but unfortunately it looks like the game has some big technical bugs that occasionally hard crash my PC. Might not be sustainable to play if it keeps this up.
